I send this e-mail to wish you all a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year 2009 on behalf of my family, HELP staff and all the friends in Horana, Millaniya and Deniyaya.
Also I feel that it is my duty to inform you about our progress of some major activities held by HELP in the year 2008. I want to mention that you have done a great job with your help by financing our work, keeping contact with you and me and also creating a web site for HELP. So I want to thank you all for your great contribution and say it has been using best way to help people.
- Completed SATHKARA education programme successfully in Horana and Millaniya.
Organized children's new year festivals in Millaniya and Horana. - Carried on relief activities distributing food,cloths and medicine for the flood-victimized people in Kalutara district.
- Held annual cultural ceremony in August and given certificates and gifts to over 100 children who completed Sathkara education programme successfully.
- Organized special workshop in Galpatha elders home and given food, gifts and entetainments for the children and elders on the world children and elders day in 1st October.
- Held preliminary workshop on indigenous medicine and environment protection in November.
- Publish SATHKARA magazine and distribute to all the schools, organizations, temples and institutions.
