We had a very successful board meeting and 9 members participated out of 10. Only Asbjørn was absent, but his message received in right time. We started the meeting by keeping 2 minutes silence to express our heartfelt condolence for the death of Asbjørn's mother.
The discussion continued for 3 hours concerning following matters:
1. SATHKARA education program.
2. Prepare a sign board and a banner for HELP.
3. News Letter, prepare first newsletter in both Sinhalese and English within May 2008 with participation of 10 schools.
4. Training courses, 1. Indigenous medicine and medicinal plants. 2. Agriculture and home gardening.
5. Cultural ceremony to be held in august 2008.
6. Millaniya, Promote SATHKARA program participating one board member every monthly meetings.
7. Deniyaya, Start an education program and children’s society soon.
8. Organize 2 seminars for the school children in July and October concerning preservation of environment.
9. Start a training program for the children for computer literacy in November and find at least 3 computers for the program.
10. Cultural, environmental and educational trip in December to Southern part of Sri Lanka.
11. To find out possibilities to organize more and long term FHS inspired courses. We realize that our building capacity is poor and decided to write a separate project proposal to build up another building with the facilities.
12. To start a SATHKARA program for elder people in the area who retired from government service, and other jobs to use their knowledge and experiences for HELP with creative activities. 13. Organize children’s ceremony for Sinhala and Tamil New year festival in April.
14. Capacity building program for women.
